Time: Approx: 11:45 p.m.

Three red lights in a triangle formation traveled east. The point of the triangle was first followed by the base. They made their way towards the water, one of the base points of light moved past the other and they were traveling in a relatively straight line, and eventually lifted above cloud cover one at a time.

About a minute after those disappeared, a fourth red light flew the same path and disappeared at the same point in the sky. As they moved overhead, they were silent and the only thing my two friends and I saw of them was the light.

Brian, my name is (name removed) and I saw the same thing last night at about 8:50pm. There were three orange colored lights to the southeast of Gulfport.

I am a security guard at (location removed). I went to my next condo complex and saw a lady standing there. I told her I'd just seen something strange. She stopped me before I could finish. "Did you see the lights?", I said "Yep".

I can't figure out why nobody else saw them.

I was just wondering if anyone else has reported seeing a triangle shaped UFO over central Florida on 2/18/11 approximately 2000? I left work in Orlando around 8:00pm and headed west on the 408, in the northern sky I saw two large white lights, one above the other, not usually in that area.

At first I thought it was maybe a star and a helicopter, then realized they were not moving. As I travelled toward the Florida turnpike, I saw the bottom light turned blue, then the whole thing turned into a triangle shape with three white lights with one big red light in the center.

The lights were not flashing on the object that I was seeing, and it appeared to be very large. I got home at approximately 8:30pm and ran into the house to get my binoculars, and could see what appeared to be a large triangle shaped craft. Three white lights at each point, and a large red light in the center. It was making no sound, and did not look like a airplane, a helicopter, or a blimp.

I tried to take pictures with my digital camera, but could not capture the image, probably because it was too dark outside. I had hoped that someone else saw this because no one believes me when I tell them about it. Please let me know if anyone else has seen this same object that evening.

Date: December 31, 2010
Time: Approx: 9:30 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Hudson, Florida.
Number of witnesses: 3
Number of Objects: 1
Shape of Objects: Unknown, light ball, no shape of object discerned.

The Vike Factor Note: I asked the witness about the first names only and I was told I could leave the names in the report.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: UFO sighting report, witness descriptions, 12/31/10

These witness statements were written on January 3rd, 2011, three days after the sighting described.

Location: Hudson, Florida, Near New Port Richey. U.S. 19 corridor, less than a mile from the Gulf of Mexico.

Time: Approximately 9:30pm
Date: 12/31/10

Conditions: Full dark, with a few very high thin clouds to our northwest, over the Gulf. There were fireworks at low altitude, and ground lights along the U.S. 19 corridor. No other aircraft were seen during the sighting.

Witnesses:
Greg, age 46
Casie, age 22
Anita, age 47

Description- Anita:

Orange/red glow of light moving from southeast to northwest. As it got closer, the single glow of light was obviously in more of a pattern of several lights moving together. No sound. It moved at the same rate of speed until it was no longer visible in the northwest.

Report-Anita:

I noticed a glow of light in the sky much larger than the stars. It was moving steadily NW and at a constant, rapid speed. It was not hovering or floating. The color is best described as the same as the tip of a lit cigarette, orange/red. As I watched it approaching, still at the same altitude, it was not just one light, but several, forming a specific, uniform pattern (Anita describes a group of twelve small lights, forming an elongated ellipse like this () ). I watched it until it passed over my house, and out of my line of sight, then ran to the front of the house, to watch it continue it’s unwavering flight to the northwest. I watched it until it was no longer visible. The entire sighting took place in about a minute to a minute and a half.

Impression-Anita:

I have seen luminaries released by people on the ground, and this was not that. It was not floating. It moved steadily and rapidly in a straight path. I was listening for any engine sound, but heard nothing. I have seen several things in the night sky, and could always categorize their origin. This was unique, in my experience, in it’s movement, pattern, and color.

Description and report-Casie:

The object appeared to be red/orange. It was neither ascending or descending, and moved very rapidly in a straight line toward U.S.19 and Hudson Beach on the Gulf of Mexico. It made no sound. It appeared to be made of or powered by fire, with no smoke. It did not appear to be moving with the wind, which was from the east. It’s movement was direct, and did not vary with the wind.

Description-Greg:

Single, flickering red/orange light. Not intensely bright. It moved at an apparent constant speed, altitude, and bearing. It was visible for one minute at most, and in that time moved across about 160 degrees of our night sky, from southeast to northwest. It faded from view, possibly obscured by some high thin clouds over the Gulf of Mexico. As the light moved almost directly overhead, it seemed to change from a ‘dot’ to an elongated ellipse, with rounded points at the sides. It had the appearance of a glowing cigarette ‘cherry’…Even the color resembled a burning coal or ember. I could see no ‘under glow’ against a solid body, nor could I discern any blocking out of stars and planets it flew past. There was no sound.

Report-Greg:

While facing southeastward in our backyard, we noticed a vivid red/orange light approaching from the southeast, at what seemed to be a constant altitude and speed. It did not seem anomalous at first. As it came more nearly overhead, I realized it was not a rising firework shell. It did not have any red, green or white aircraft lights. There was no ‘under glow’ from the numerous bright ground lights along the U.S. 19 corridor ( we are very close to a Wal-Mart and several other large retail centers.) It did not appear to have any suspending structure like a balloon or luminaire. There was no ‘tail’, and it was not moving as fast as any meteors I have ever seen. There was no sound.

When I realized all of this, I ran into the house to douse the outside security light, in hopes of seen the object more clearly. In more complete darkness, I still could not discern any larger structure, or blocking of stars it passed. As it began to move over the house, we ran through the house to the front yard. We kept the object in sight until it faded from view to our northwest, possible obscured by high thin clouds over the Gulf, or simply by other light in the night sky.

Impressions (Greg):

It made no sound. No other aircraft were visible near the object (we are in a fairly busy air traffic area, thirty miles north of Tampa/St. Petersburg). Unable to judge height, but here, at night, we are often able to see the actual shape of aircraft under 1000 feet due to bright ground lights. The color and intensity reminded me of the glowing tip of a cigarette. I cannot be certain of object altitude or speed…But from hundreds of night sky observations, it seemed very high…Over 2000 feet, which gave me the impression of aircraft speed or greater. I feel that if it had been lower, and of solid construction, we would have been able to make out a shape, or heard sounds of a propulsion system.

My impressions are based on the speed, and the lack of sound. It covered 160 degrees of our sky in under a minute…A powered aircraft, moving that far that fast, at low altitude, would have made sound…So my feeling is that it was either very high, and moving at very great speed, or low, and not normally powered.

Possible explanations (Greg):

High altitude weather balloon with suspended light- Our wind at sea level was from the east. If a balloon were launched to our southeast, was the wind at altitude fast enough to give them impression of the object’s high speed?

Orbital object: Our neighbor saw a light, exactly as we described, about two hours after our sighting. He reported to us that it moved in the same way, at the same heading as what we saw. Could this indicate a repeating orbital movement of a satellite?

As I understand from reading in the days that followed, there were several reports of multiple objects, some separated by minutes or hours throughout the night.

A few notes from Greg:

1) I spent most of the rest of the night looking at Google News for other reports, and found the Vike blog via Google search for ‘Florida UFO 12/13/10’. During the night, several other reports very similar to ours came in. There is some variance, including the multiple object sightings, and the different reported directions of the object(s) But there is enough similarity to make me think we were part of a ‘flap’.

2) In 1973, while living in Botswana as a child, I had a sighting of anomalous lights in the sky, very different from what we saw in December. That sighting was witnessed by over forty people, and may be in the MUFON database (I filed a report on it in 2004). In all the years since, I have been an avid night sky watcher, in hopes of seeing something remarkable again. I had pretty much given up hope that I ever would, and then, BAM.

3) Casie is my daughter, and this was the first time she had ever seen anything like this.

4) None of us were under the influence, I have not had a drink since the mid 80s.

5) We told our neighbor what we saw. Shortly after midnight, he knocked on our door to tell us he had just seen the same thing. I was very skeptical, but reading through the other reports from Florida, it seems several others had multiple sightings that night.

Report gathered by Greg, Word Doc created 1/18/11.

Time: 7:24 p.m. (event completed)

Hello Brian, my boyfriend and I saw it from the very start, but the time I checked, just as the event completed, was 7:24 according to my phone. However, I have had time loop experiences in the past, so I don't know how accurate that was because others are reporting the incident at around 930 pm.

Unless it happened more than once, which is possible. I witnessed the meteor- like object falling, but much larger than a typical "shooting star", which broke into three white orbs, came together, broke apart again, and hovered for a few moments before disappearing one by one. I have read that a night skydiving video was being filmed in the area. I have a friend who teaches skydiving, so I will ask him if that is the case. Just wanted to share that with you. Take care.

I live in Temecula, CA. I walked outside to smoke a grit and immediately saw three lights. They were staying within close proximity to each other, but all were moving slightly. At my vantage point the lights were in an upside down triangle. The best part is I ran in and said, "mom, come look". She grabbed her camera and came out.

I was excited and she was shocked. The lights disappeared one after the other. I have never seen anything like this before and I'm an aviation fanatic. So I can "safely" say I will die happy because I saw what I saw and so did my mom. We both have seen stuff before, but this is worth talking about.

The only difference between my story and (name removed) from the http://unitedstatesufo.blogspot.com/2011/01/three-lights-hovering-then-disappearing.html site is the objects disappeared one by one. They did not merge then disappear. My story is correct.

Saw what looked like a large meteor falling to the north from my backyard in Murrieta. It then seemed to slow down and hover. It then broke into three separate objects which did resemble a very large flare. But then the flaming tails behind them disappeared as it formed a triangle.

It then just stayed in the same spot in the sky, not falling like a parachute like reported. For about a minute before disappearing. Very strange.

LAKE ELSINORE: Not meteors, just skydivers with flares
By PE News on January 6, 2011 7:56 PM

Skydivers jumping out of planes over Lake Elsinore with flares prompted some calls to the sheriff's and fire dispatchers wondering if meteorites were falling into the lake.

"We got two calls," said Deputy Melissa Nieburger, spokeswoman for the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. "We had units checking it out, but so far no sounds of distress."

Turns out it's members of Skydive Elsinore and the Army's Golden Knights skydiving team jumping with flares for a video on night skydiving, said Capt. Jim Brown of the Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

The two calls received by the Sheriff's Department described three fireballs in the sky, Nieburger said.

Hey Brian, I just read on your website about some reports of strange lights over Lake Elsinore/Murriteta last night (Jan 6th). Just wanted to let you know that my girlfriend and I saw the same thing. We were driving south on the 15 around 9:40 pm just north of Elsinore and we saw a streak of light falling from the sky.

It started to break up, so we thought it was a meteor or something, but then it broke up into three segments and each of these pieces seemed to be suspended in mid-air. They formed a triangle and seemed to just sit there for a while. We passed behind a hill and when we looked again, the lights were gone.

It's very possible that these were skydivers but still, I've never seen anything like this ever before. If you figure out what it is, I'd love to know!

I witnessed the same UFO sighting in Menifee CA (with 2 others) as was reported from Wildomar and Temecula CA on January 6, 2011 at approximately 9:30pm. We first noticed the light as a slit of light. It was kind of like what a small sliver of the Moon looks like except it was straight, not curved. Then it started moving down with tail behind it. We thought it was a meteorite at this point.

And then it seemed to change direction as it appeared to come directly at us. And then suddenly it transformed into 3 smaller circles of light. 2 circles appeared to hold steady while one rearranged position until it settled, forming a triangular shape with the 3 points of light. And about 1 minute or 2 later, it suddenly disappeared. The whole sighting lasted approximately 5 minutes.

Hi my name is (name removed), I too saw those lights in the sky. My three friends and I were driving and I saw it immediately. My friends didn't believe me then they saw the three floating lights in a triangular form. I thought right away it was extra terrestrials.

I've read a lot about sightings and the existence of aliens, so that was the first thing that came to mind. Especially the three glowing lights just hovering there, and suddenly disappearing. I know of a few other people seeing them as well.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I first saw 3 trails of orange light falling from the sky, then for a couple of seconds it was gone, but then all of a sudden there were 3 separate balls of white light flying in a pyramid type pattern.

I wouldn't say they were perfectly round as there seemed to be sparks of light falling from the upper ball of light, this went on for a couple of minutes then all of a sudden they just disappeared.

I was driving home Saturday night and looked out over Palmetto, Florida as I crossed over the green bridge driving South, I noticed 3 orange lights and thought to my self that it was strange. I never noticed these lights before.

I tried to keep eye contact, but by the time I turned left to go to my condo, the lights were gone. I sent a text to my buddy and told him I made it home safe and I will have to tell him about the strange lights, but of course I wanted to make sure someone else saw it as well.

I saw these UFO's tonight. I live in Southwest Florida and saw three of the amber orange glowing sphere-like UFO's flying from east to west. They were up high like an airplane but from the ground the size of softballs. They floated were candle like with no sound moving fairly fast. I tried to take a picture, but my camera is digital so it would take the picture. I even tried it on a night setting, but no luck.

The three of them flew in a straight line formation until for about 6 miles and then just faded away into the horizon. I've seen one once before like 5 or 6 years ago, but thought it was a weather balloon or some kind of weather device. I flew in almost the same path. But this time I saw three. I was freaked out. To freaky, I couldn't believe my eyes.

Three independent orange lights rose up over Lake Michigan at about Fullerton Ave, straight from the horizon. No flashing lights, just an intensely bright orange light on each of the three objects. I thought they might be military helicopters and were going to fly right over me, but they kept rising and rising into the sky.

One broke off from the others and eventually disappeared into the sky directly above me. It was a clear night, but it went so high I couldn't see it anymore. The other two stayed at a lower altitude for awhile, and then similarly disappeared into the black. No sound, slow movement. Any other sightings of this? I'm baffled about what I may have seen.

Feel free to contact me.

Hello Mr. Vike, Back in what I think was May of 2010, I was unloading some boxes from my car at about 10:15 p.m. when I looked up at the stars and saw what looked like these three rare orange-red lights which I thought were really odd bright stars to the North-East. I kept unloading stuff from my car and kept seeing these three lights just there, like calling out.

I called my wife out of the house and showed her those bright orange-red stars. She stared at them and told me those weren’t stars. We stared at them for about five minutes trying to figure out what kind of lights they might be, when all of a sudden one of the lights started dimming until it disappeared.

Then a second light started to dim and disappeared, and then the third. After about five minutes the three lights re-appeared and separated from each other. One moved horizontally to the South, one moved horizontally to the North-West, and one stayed put. Then after about five minutes later all three lights started dimming again, and then vanished. We could tell these lights were really high up because the airplanes that went by while these three lights were visible, were way below them.
