We went a bit rogue today and wrote a piece for the National Review Online instead of on Facebook. I love it when we mix it up a bit! It means I get to use a different font!

The Great Opologizer stated today that he was going to expand off-shore drilling. Of course, he is choosing to not drill in parts of Alaska. Hmm...

You know that wasn't going to sit well with Madame. Energy independence is like her 6th child! She went to work highlighting the softy southpaws tactics of trying to garner support for cap and tax due to this decision. However, for the Great Opologizer, his tactics weren't "drill, baby, drill" but "stall, baby, stall"! Stall, baby, stall is a lot like his war strategy--ditherer-in-chief!

Madame also spent some time highlighting her record, which is always awesome. Also, she reminded us that this is about jobs. Less drilling, fewer jobs!

Madame also said that she was going to speak about this next week in New Orleans! Yes, we cajun!

OIL - you better sit down.

Here's an interesting read, important and verifiable information :

About 6 months ago, the writer was watching a news program on oil and
one of the Forbes Bros. was the guest. The host said to Forbes, "I am going to
ask you a direct question and I would like a direct answer; how much oil
does the U.S. have in the ground?" Forbes did not miss a beat, he said, "more
than all the Middle East put together." Please read below.

The U. S. Geological Service issued a report in April 2008 that only
scientists and oil men knew was coming, but man was it big. It was a
revised report (hadn't been updated since 1995) on how much oil was in
this area of the western 2/3 of North Dakota , western South Dakota , and extreme eastern Montana ......

The Bakken is the largest domestic oil discovery since Alaska 's Prudhoe
Bay, and has the potential to eliminate all American dependence on foreign
oil. The Energy Information Administration (EIA) estimates it at 503 billion
barrels. Even if just 10% of the oil is recoverable... at $107 a barrel,
we're looking at a resource base worth more than $5..3 trillion.

"When I first briefed legislators on this, you could practically see
their jaws hit the floor. They had no idea.." says Terry Johnson, the Montana
Legislature's financial analyst.

"This sizable find is now the highest-producing onshore oil field found
in the past 56 years," reports The Pittsburgh Post Gazette. It's a
formation known as the Williston Basin , but is more commonly referred to as the
'Bakken.' It stretches from Northern Montana, through North Dakota and
into Canada .. For years, U. S. oil exploration has been considered a dead
end. Even the 'Big Oil' companies gave up searching for major oil wells
decades ago. However, a recent technological breakthrough has opened up
the Bakken's massive reserves.... and we now have access of up to 500
billion barrels. And because this is light, sweet oil, those billions of barrels
will cost Americans just $16 PER BARREL!

That's enough crude to fully fuel the American economy for 2041 years
straight. And if THAT didn't throw you on the floor, then this next one
should - because it's from 2006!

U. S. Oil Discovery- Largest Reserve in the World

Stansberry Report Online - 4/20/2006

Hidden 1,000 feet beneath the surface of the Rocky Mountains lies the
largest untapped oil reserve in the world. It is more than 2 TRILLION
barrels. On August 8, 2005 President Bush mandated its extraction. In
three and a half years of high oil prices none has been extracted. With this
motherload of oil why are we still fighting over off-shore drilling?

They reported this stunning news: We have more oil inside our borders,
than all the other proven reserves on earth. Here are the official estimates:

- 8-times as much oil as Saudi Arabia

- 18-times as much oil as Iraq

- 21-times as much oil as Kuwait

- 22-times as much oil as Iran

- 500-times as much oil as Yemen

- and it's all right here in the Western United States .

HOW can this BE? HOW can we NOT BE extracting this? Because the
environmentalists and others have blocked all efforts to help America
become independent of foreign oil! Again, we are letting a small group of
people dictate our lives and our economy.....WHY?

James Bartis, lead researcher with the study says we've got more oil in
this very compact area than the entire Middle East -more than 2 TRILLION
barrels untapped. That's more than all the proven oil reserves of crude oil in
the world today, reports The Denver Post.

Don 't think 'OPEC' will drop its price - even with this find? Think
again!
It's all about the competitive marketplace, - it has to. Think OPEC just
might be funding the environmentalists?

Got your attention yet? Now, while you're thinking about it, do this:

Pass this along. If you don't take a little time to do this, then you
should stifle yourself the next time you complain about gas prices - by
doing NOTHING, you forfeit your right to complain.

--------

Now I just wonder what would happen in this country if every one of you
sent this to every one in your address book.

By the way...this is all true. Check it out at the link below!!!

GOOGLE it, or follow this link. It will blow your mind.

Well, Madame's one of the few out their who has the energy to write about energy independence while also taking time to encourage Americans to continue to fight to "Kill the Bill". When the Great Opologizer calls for a ban on offshore drilling, you know that Madame is going to unleash the pit bull inside of her. Madame referenced her earlier post about the Obama administration sending money for offshore drilling in Brazil. That was a fun one; I also had fun with my post back in the day.

Madame made this all about jobs though. That's a 3 letter word, right VP Hair Plugs? Madame suggested showed some research that more than 1 million jobs could be created if the ban on offshore drilling. Wow. The Great Opologizer needs to know that you don't need to spend nearly a billion dollars to "save/create" jobs. I still can't figure out how millions of jobs can be created or saved if the unemployment rate is still hovering about 10%. The White House computers must have a corrupted version of excel.

Madame called the President to listen to the America. You would think that with his ears, that would be able to listen to the America people. Sigh. However, as always, Madame ends with optimism. She doesn't right "lifting American spirits" on her hand for nothing:
America, we must resolve to stay engaged in what our politicians are doing. Don’t get tired and give up. All political power is inherent in the people. America can only be transformed into something unrecognizable if we get so tired that we give up our political power and close our eyes to what is going on. Find the energy to stand for what you know is right, including supporting leaders who don’t engage in energy policy doublespeak.

Since another guy from the Idiot People for Climate Change, well, I mean the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change is beginning to see the light about "global warming" Madame decided to write another great post!

The Opologizer administration's extreme environmental policies have hurt oil and gas exploration, and it has cost the nation billions of dollars. You know Madame feels when policies are anti-domestic energy!

She also called out the President for his sneakiness in his new nuclear power plan. He's trying to claim credit when the leases are from Bush's administration. Funny that the Great Opologizer doesn't want to "blame" Bush for this energy! He also wants to cut funding for the nuclear waste facility. How's that going to work, Mr. President?

Of course it wouldn't be a true post without some of Madame's signature sarcasm:

"With all of these shoes dropping you’d think every member of the U.N.’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) would be barefoot by now."

"If the climategate revelations teach us anything, it’s that we need to cool down the rhetoric and fire up our common sense."

So, fellow rogues, let's encourage the IPCC people to warm up their frostbitten bare feet by the common sense fire!

I must let you know that the First Dude begins the Iron Dog race on Sunday. I'm not allowed to go outside to watch. I still haven't found a NorthFace or Carhart jacket that fits me (sigh). However, you can follow along with me and catch the race here. Go First Dude!

Since handgate came out over the weekend, I've decided to give a new name to Madame's Facebook posts: "face-palms". Generally, the term "face palm" is a reaction to a bad event, but I'd like to turn that around to say that it means Madame wrote something good! Just like Madame made the phrase, "going rogue", a good thing, so we'll make the phrase "face-palm" a good thing!

Last night and today, Madame posted two good notes, one about the Obama administrations lies about their seriousness in offshore drilling and the other about the progress of a oil project at Pt. Thomson. She even linked an ADN article in that one; that might increase their traffic a thousand fold!

We even took the time to tweet Uncle Glenn a happy birthday. They are only a day apart, you know? Tomorrow's the big day! Madame's birthday! I'll fill you in on the detail tomorrow!

Madame has written another great op-ed on energy independence. An excerpt was also posted on Facebook. One of the first things Madame did in this piece was a little bit of math:
According to the Energy Information Administration, our total domestic petroleum consumption last year was 19.5 million barrels per day (bpd). Motor gasoline and diesel fuel accounted for less than 13 million bpd of that. Meanwhile, we produced only 4.95 million bpd of domestic crude. In other words, even if we ran all our vehicles on something else (which won’t happen anytime soon), we would still have to depend on imported oil.
We have a President right now who can't correctly count the number of states and a Vice President who can't count the numbers of letters in the word "jobs", so I'll do the math for them. After all, it is my job to compute. This would mean that America would need to produce 1.55 million bpd in order to satisfy American consumption, even if cars ran on something other than gasoline!

Madame thoroughly discussed how one can be both pro-environment and pro-development, the benefits of using natural gas, renewable energy, the need to build more oil refineries, trade deficits, and job creation!

Madame closed with her one of her signature phrases and a knock at the Great Opologizer's signature phrase:
Alternative sources of energy are part of the answer, but only part. There’s no getting around the fact that we still need to “drill, baby, drill!” And if those in D.C. say otherwise, we need to tell them: “Yes, we can!".
I'm surprised that the softy southpaws haven't gotten upset at Madame for that phrase: "Drill, baby, drill!". They probably think that it isn't politically correct or environmentally conscious enough. They probably think that
"Find carbon-emitting fossil fuels, chronologically challenged person, find carbon-emitting fossil fuels!" sounds better.

It was another good piece!

Last night, Madame 45 approached me after she finished reading the Wall Street Journal. She threw her gloves on the floor and said, "OK, LOTUS, I've got my Naughty Monkeys on. The heels are on, and the gloves are off again"!

Woohoo, I thought, I love it when Madame is ready to fight! Plus, when she takes her gloves off before she types, she's a lot more gentle on my keys. I had to make sure I cued the music, for we were ready to write. I downloaded a new version of "Barracuda". This one is by Gretchen Wilson, a singer who Madame met on the campaign trail. I thought you all might like to see the music video:

I asked her what we were going to write about. She told me that the Great Opologizer was sending $2 billion to Brazil to fund off-shore drilling. No wonder Madame was so upset! She really does not like it when the President looks to other countries for oil. I understand. She has told me all about energy independence, ANWR, ACES, AGIA, and all the other acronyms. I 'm with her on the energy issue. I have plastic components in me, but the oil used to make them came from Saudi Arabia and Venezuela. I really wish my plastic was made from oil from Alaska, so that I can say I am truly Alaskan! But, I digress.

Madame went on to write about the need to drill in America which would provide jobs for Americans. She scolded the Great Opologizer for sending American money to Brazil rather than to help create American jobs and discover American oil. (TOTUS, if you are reading this, make sure you pass onto Big Guy that they don't speak Brazilian in Brazil, they speak Portuguese. Apparently, he was confused about language with Austria). Madame really brought out the sarcasm with her post. Here's an example:

"One has to wonder if Obama is playing politics and perhaps refusing a "win" for some states just to play to the left with our money."

Madame was pretty upset. As I was reading through the article before we posted it, I noticed she didn't refer to him as President Obama. That means she is pretty ticked! I can't wait until we write again. Hmm, I wonder what the next topic will be: unused stimulus money, the national deficit, cap and tax,or maybe more health care reform stuff. She always surprises me.

On another note, I'd like to congratulate Madame on passing 800,000 Facebook followers. She's becoming even more and more popular! Also, did you see my new page header at the top? I'd like to give a shout out to Alex Raye, one of the member of another one of Madame's facebook groups. She did an excellent photo editing job!
