Hello, on December 31, 2010 at 9:00 PST in Temecula, CA we were sitting in our backyard around the fire when we saw coming towards us from the NE a round, bright, orange light. At first we thought it was a helicopter with a strange bright orange headlight. As it approached we did not hear any noise coming from this light.

It flew right over our home, still no noise then it seemed to fly straight up and disappear right above us. About 30 seconds later from the same NE direction, another bright light came and did the same thing again. After the 4th one, I called my son downstairs and he watched 3 more of the events.

No noise, orange, bright lights that flew overhead and then disappeared into a pin sized light right above us. When it approached directly what seemed overhead, it had a star shaped pattern as if it was a bright burning ball of light. My husband is an airline pilot, former Marine fighter pilot and was completely dumbfounded at this sighting.

What do you think?

I live on Temecula Parkway and was driving earlier with my girlfriend down Temecula Parkway towards the 15 freeway on ramp at around 7:30pm or so and all of a sudden we saw a light in the sky. At first we both thought it was a shooting star, because that’s what it looked like, but usual shooting stars happen really quickly and this stream of light went on for some time.

I'm not sure how much relation my story has to yours, but its incredible how not just a few days ago you saw strange lights in the sky in a city right next door. Curious Temecula resident.

I live in Temecula, CA. I walked outside to smoke a grit and immediately saw three lights. They were staying within close proximity to each other, but all were moving slightly. At my vantage point the lights were in an upside down triangle. The best part is I ran in and said, "mom, come look". She grabbed her camera and came out.

I was excited and she was shocked. The lights disappeared one after the other. I have never seen anything like this before and I'm an aviation fanatic. So I can "safely" say I will die happy because I saw what I saw and so did my mom. We both have seen stuff before, but this is worth talking about.

The only difference between my story and (name removed) from the http://unitedstatesufo.blogspot.com/2011/01/three-lights-hovering-then-disappearing.html site is the objects disappeared one by one. They did not merge then disappear. My story is correct.

At approximately 9:36pm PST on January 6, 2011 my daughter and I noticed a large light with tail slowly crossing the sky in Temecula. It was seen to the west of Temecula over the Santa Rosa plateau and slowly proceeded north toward Murrieta. As it began to descend, the light split into 3 separate lights and then stalled in the sky.

We then lost sight of the object as it disappeared behind a hill that blocked our view. Very unusual, have never seen anything like it before.

Brian, my partner and I witnessed something similar as we were driving home last night from Temecula. It was around 9:30 pm and we were heading west on the 91 freeway and were at approximately Beach Boulevard. I was in the passenger seat and I looked up and saw what looked like a shooting star. What was strange was it had a long, white trail. I told my partner and he looked up and saw it as well.

After a few seconds the trail disappeared and the object was just sitting in place. It didn't have any blinking lights as planes have and was just a constant light in the sky. After a few more moments the object disappeared in the sky and appeared in the sky further south. Again, it was just sitting in the sky and not moving.

You could tell it wasn't a plane as there were no lights blinking. It stayed in this location for another few moments. I noticed a plane heading from offshore towards the object and then all of a sudden the light disappeared again. This time I did not see it again and neither did my partner.

Thanks for your site as I thought we were the only ones to see this bizarre object.
