The Vike Factor Note: What the witnesses saw were Chinese/Wish Lanterns for sure.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: It was cloudy there were 15 or 16 glowing balls of light floating silently and in a formation. The light was different. I looked through my binoculars and I don't think they were any kind of known aircraft.

They seem to have flown over the historic Marietta square, and at the same altitude as planes heading towards Dobbins. My phone was dying and I couldn't find my camera, but there were 5 people, 2 adults who saw this. I cant believe that I think that no many people saw this.

Huge Orange Ball Of Fire With Blue Tail Seen Over Dahlonega Georgia

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I'm not sure if it was a UFO, but it appeared to be something out of this world. While driving home, we saw a huge orange ball of what looked like fire with a blue tail headed for the ground at a high speed.

There was a quick flash of light. I saw where it would have landed, there was no explosion, no fire, no noise and no aftermath. Just what was seen in the sky.

20 To 30 Planes Take Off In The Direction The Lights Were Seen Over North Georgia

Date: January 15, 2011
Time: Evening.

Brian, my husband, brother in law, and my self were all outside and saw exactly what you described tonight. We are in North Georgia. We called the news and they checked the FAA, but no drills or anything was going on. Then as we watched the lights disappear, we literally saw anywhere from 20-30 planes take off from the same direction and head in the direction of the lights.

Note: We do live right near an AFB. Some of those planes we watched even went dark. Very strange. We have friends in the military, we called them, but they said they didn’t know of anything, but sounded weird like they couldn't talk.

Just thought you'd like to know yall weren’t the only ones who saw that. Wish we new what it was.

5 Or 6 Floating Orange Lights Over Atlanta Georgia (Chinese Lanterns)

Time: Approx: 7:00 p.m.

Brian, I live in Atlanta and saw something similar to what you described. Tonight, a group of us were tailgating in a parking lot outside the Georgia Dome prior to the Atlanta Falcons playoffs game. Around 7:00pm, about a dozen of us saw 5 or 6 floating orange lights that looked like they were hanging from some sort of parachute.

I have to assume that hundred of others saw the same thing, given that there were many people tailgating all around us. Because it had just turned dark, it was hard to see them very clearly. They were maybe 300 feet over the ground, traveling at perhaps 30mph. They gradually made their way out of sight after several minutes. Very strange.

Any explanation?
