We failed to "declare war" on Vietnam...what ensued was chaos...thank you LBJ. Now you would think that after a 16 year conflict that ended back in 1975 we (as a country) would learn something. Had the proper protocols been followed we would have either not been in Vietnam, or we would have given the troops what they needed to win by declaring war. Vietnam was not lost due to the fact we didn't know who the enemy was. It was lost due to the inability of our government to provide STRONG and DECISIVE leadership coupled with a willingness to DEVASTATE and DESTROY the enemy....but that is for another post. Lets fast forward to the present.

Now due to media distortion and entrenched political party ethics, we declared war on the wrong enemy.

1. We declared War on Terror. This is just a plain silly statement in it's own right, but this is as close as we can come to defining our enemy "Radical Islam" without coming out and saying it (their in lies our problem). This declaration of war on terror is just to broad. This makes it almost impossible to describe a clear enemy. After all there are many terrorists working for many organizations.
2. We declared War on Iraq. Again a mistake, this is war against a country, which conventionally sounds like a good plan. And historically the United States does very well when fighting another country, which in the conflict presents itself as homogeneous. The problem is the enemy is not conventional, and this is not a conventional war.

It's time to Gut Check America, and call it what it is, and do what we have to, leave the politeness at the door. This is a war against "Radical Islam". So it stands to reason we need to declare war on "Radical Islam". We need to declare war on "Radical Islam" as an entity so we can clearly define our enemy, and secure our precious oil.

From time to time I will hear a member of the PLA (Pompous Liberal Americans) say something like: "oh, this is another Vietnam...we don't know who are enemy is".

We do know who are enemy is, but due to politics and media is has not been official defined as a homogeneous entity. The problem is at some point it will come down to Muslim vs. every other religion. This is Islams destiny. They have given us an ultimatum, convert or die.

I would like to define a word that I have used in previous posts.

Caliphate:

A caliphate (from the Arabic خلافة or khilāfah), is the Islamic form of government representing the political unity and leadership of the Muslim world. The head of state's position (Caliph) is based on the notion of a successor to Prophet Muhammad's political authority; according to Sunnis ideally elected by the people or their representatives,[1] and according to the Shia an Imamate chosen from the Ahl ul-Bayt. From the time of Muhammad until 1924, successive caliphates were held by the Umayyad, Abbasid, and finally Ottoman (sultans of Turkey) dynasties.
The caliphate is the only form of governance that has full approval in traditional Islamic theology, and "is the core political concept of Sunni Islam, by the consensus of the Muslim majority in the early centuries."[2] Andrew Hammond reports that medieval caliphates "enjoyed scientific and military superiority globally - both absent today".[3]

This is the goal of Islam, not just Radical Islam. 95% of American don't know what the word means.

What's worse is our government and legal system is inadequate to deal with this threat. Our criminal justice code was not designed for this threat. Our immigration/deportation laws and procedures are outdated and again inadequate to deliver swift justice to the enemy we face.

We need to call this what it is. And we need to fight hard to win. Unfortunately we are getting in our own way.
