FROM THE COUCH OF MUNCHKIN - OR WHO LET THE DOG OUT?_#4

Here is a news item that is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face, and let's face it, there isn't too much in the news to make anyone smile any more.

Florida Court Sets Atheist Holy Day:

In Florida, an atheist created a case against the upcoming Easter and Passover holidays. He hired an attorney to bring a discrimination case against Christians and Jews concerning their observance of their holy days. His argument was that it is unfair because atheists had no such recognized holidays.

The case was brought before the court, and after listening to the passionate presentation by the atheist's lawyer, the judge banged his gavel and declared,
"Case dismissed."

The lawyer immediately jumped to his feet and objected to the ruling saying,
"Your Honor, how can you possibly dismiss this case? The Christians have Easter, Christmas & other holy days. The Jews have Passover, Yom Kippur & Hanukkah, but my client and all the other atheists have no such holidays."

The judge leaned forward saying, "But they do, counsel, your client is woefully ignorant."

The lawyer responded, "Your Honor, we are unaware of any such special observance or holiday for atheists."

The judge said, "Read Psalm 14:1, which clearly states 'The fool says in his heart, there is no God.' Thus, it is the opinion of this court that if your client and all the atheists say there is no God, then they are fools. Therefore, April 1st IS their holiday since the calendar says April 1st is 'April Fools Day'. Case dismissed."

Okay, now smile and go back to doing whatever it was you were doing, and God willing, I'll see you all in a week.
