On December 18, 2008, at approximately 6:51 a.m., a lone male was jogging on the south side of Key Bridge into Virginia. He crossed over the ramp from the George Washington Memorial Parkway to Key Bridge and then accessed the bike path on the south side of Key Bridge that leads to the T.R. Island pedestrian overpass. While jogging on the path he was attacked from behind and knocked to the ground. He was struck by a bottle several times in the back, neck and head. The victim sustained several cuts to his hand and a gash to the back of his head. The victim was robbed of his iPod, $80 and two credit cards. The victim was treated and released from a local hospital.
The suspect is described as a white male, medium build, mid to late 30’s, curly brown/gray hair that is longer in the front. The suspect spoke with a deep voice but no discernible accent. The only clothing description is having a disheveled appearance.
